Mantarlele Divas...

"Hi Mimi", The voice startled me.
Mrs. Nene: Where is your Mumma, Go and call her. I have to tell her a top news. (as she moved into the kitchen  searching for my mother.)
I: Aunty, mom is not at home. Will be back in half an hour.
Mrs Nene: Oh, no problem sweety, I will be back after half an hour. Tell your Mumma that she will be more than happy after hearing this news.
I:(Does she really have such a great news, otherwise as usual..she will come with some stupid news telling how my neighbours were fighting with each other.)

After one hour:
Mrs Nene: Hello Mrs. Sathe, "Aho eikal ka? I have searched a groom for our Mimi"

I was more than shocked after hearing the news. Are my parents really thinking for my marriage so soon.
I just completed my B.E one year back.
The only thought of marriage has taken me back to my college days.

My parents were crying when I was leaving the home for the first time. i took admission in Govt Engineering college Mumbai.Even tears rolled down my face as the thought of staying away from  parents made me feel unconfortable. Dad came with me and he left in 2 days shifting me to a private hostel in mumbai. On the very first day only I met Vinita, from mumbai and Arartrika from Kolkata. Arartrika was also staying in the same hostel as of mine.

Our Mechanics professor introduced our whole batch with the student committe and announced that we will be having freshers party next week.Wow, our faced shined with smile. Being from small town I had never attended any night party before this. The only celebration was School/Jr College cultural festival but that never exteded after 6 PM :)
Freshers party was full of enjoyment. Got so many friends there only and finally we were a big Gang. Our classes started . Initially we all were attending classes like going in a primary school. but eventually it all decreased and till the time third year came only Geeks used to be there in the classes as the representative.

College events, sports and other activities were more than enough to keep busy our gang. In the same time Arartrika met Ranjan and was always busy talking on phone with him.Relationships in college days also have a special touch.I still remember in the second year of my college, my classmate had a serious fight with senior batchmate and that too for a girl. Thankfully these kind of fights don't sustain for long time.

Semister exams come like enemy in college life. But, only people on whom we people used pass comments for the whole semester come for our help. For knowing the books, syllabus, and teaching the concepts also.
"Yaar, bus paasing marks aa jaye.." . This is the most frequent sentence that you can hear in exam days.
One of my friend was so irritated with the bulky reference books that she announced in my group that soon she will be having a book telling how to get to 40% "If only 5 pointers are sufficient for the passing then what is the use of reading such a heavy book.", she used to say.

Collge placements are one of the turning point. That time only we realized why poiters do matter. We missed so many companies interview because of not fulfilling the criteria. But again t's like a lucky draw..If you are lucky enough then no one can stop you getting into that company.Whatever was the situation, but yes we all got placed in good compaies. That was really a proud moment for all of us.

How 4 years passed we didn't even realized. How deeply we all were attached to each other come to know by the time we have to leave the college. Send off event is most emotiona and sensible event. We all were almost crying.

Huh......But all these are only memories now.
I am no more a college girl now. And will get marry within a year.
But yes college days becomes the most memorable days in your life...They will surely give a lifetime friends.
I felt like meeting all my friends again. I decided to plan a get together very soon.

Till the time I came out of my thought process Mom and Mrs Nene finished their talk and they decided to meet the family of that boy.
"Lagnala Bolavshil ga tuzya saglya mitra maitrinina",Mom said to me as Mrs. Nene left.
I just smiled.
